CAFFEINE IS NOT THE ENEMY… IT’S THE COFFEE!!
Matcha contains, on average, around 70mg per 225g cup of caffeine. Comparatively a coffee can have up to around 200mg per 225 cup (almost 3 times higher than matcha). Unlike coffee, matcha contains another alkaloid called L-theanine which is known to promote the production of calming neurotransmitters like serotonin and gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA). But even more interestingly, L-theanine actually helps to slow down the absorption of caffeine and in matcha this can take over a period of 6-8 hours. This prompts a sustained state of calmness, enhanced alertness and improved cognitive function without jitters or a crash.
AUSTRALIAN ANISEED MYRTLE
Aniseed myrtle is a delicious and fragrant Australian native superfood that has antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory and immune boosting effects. Aniseed myrtle also boasts a high concentration of magnesium which also helps with inflammation, energy levels and immunity, it’s also essential for bone and muscle health.
