Go-Co Smoothie

Turmeric Drink

If you’re recovering from a big week, post workout muscle soreness or even illness, I promise your body will thank you for making it this smoothie. We’re talking antioxidants and probiotics that help to nourish and balance your microbiome, as well as anti-inflammatory and immunity boosters that will fast track your recovery and improve your overall health. Not to mention the other benefits associated with Erbista’s Golden Grove blend, like its ability to lower cholesterol and alleviate symptoms of arthritis whilst fueling your focus and energy.

Smoothies are supposed to be fun, fast and convenient so don’t worry too much about following the recipe to the letter. What I will say is, after trialling different milks, I have found using half Coconut and half Soy Milk to produce the best result. Coconut Milk is a little too thin by itself for my liking and I have found Soy really adds a refreshing “silky” texture especially in the company of soaked Chia Seeds. I realise that buying both kinds of milk can be seen as an unjustifiable expense and really you can use any type of milk with this recipe and you’ll still love it.

All you will need is some Coconut Yoghurt, Honey, Coconut Milk (or 50/50 Coconut & Soy Milk) and Chia Seeds; Black Chia provides a little bit more protein, White Chia provides a bit more omega 3, together they are unbeatable! Ok that’s it, hope you enjoy this one, if you have any ideas, feedback or simply want to share your results we’d love to hear from you.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon of Chia Seeds (Black, White or Mixed)
  • 2 heaped tablespoons of Coconut Yoghurt
  • 1 teaspoon of Honey
  • 2 thirds of a cup of Coconut Milk (or 50/50 Coconut & Soy Milk for added silkiness)
  • 3 teaspoons of Erbista Golden Grove Powder

Method

  1. Soak the Chia Seeds in a tablespoon of water for 3-5 minutes so they become gelatinous and soft. (You can skip this step if you wish but it really helps the consistency and overall silkiness of the smoothie)
  1. Combine the Coconut Yoghurt, Honey and Milk in a blender for 15 seconds.
  1. Add the Erbista Golden Grove Powder and Chia Seeds and blend for a further 30 seconds or until smooth.
  1. Taste the smoothie to check the balance is to your liking. (You may want to add some more Honey for added sweetness, more Milk for less thickness, an ice cube or two for more thickness and chill or more Erbista Golden Grove powder for more of that sweet turmeric/ginger flavour)
  1. Pour the contents of the blender into the vessel of your choice and enjoy! (You may want to garnish with some raw/un-soaked chia seeds, Cinnamon Powder or some desiccated coconut)
